Accused UH Student Surrenders After Vandalizing Painting

A man who allegedly vandalized a priceless painting by renowned artist Pablo Picasso at the Menil Collection has surrendered to police in McAllen, Texas.

Uriel Landeros is accused of spray painting an art piece called “Woman in a Red Armchair” in June of last year. He is facing charges of felony graffiti and felony criminal mischief.

The defendant is a student at the University of Houston, but he has spent some time in Mexico and Guatemala for the last several months.
