UT Player’s Lawyer: Accusations are ‘Completely False’

An attorney for one of the two University of Texas football players who were charged with sexual assault says the accusations are “completely false.”

The legal counsel for linebacker Jordan Hicks said in a written statement that his client “vehemently asserts” that the sexual behaviors in question were “consensual by everyone involved.” Hicks’ lawyer also added that his client was fully cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation.

A spokesman for the San Antonio Police Department said on Monday that they are awaiting the forensic evidence that is needed to continue with the investigation.

According to a police report, a 21-year-old woman alleged that two unnamed men assaulted her on Friday morning at a hotel. She mentioned that the two suspects are students. The victim believes that she had invited the men to her room after having a few drinks. Law enforcement officers observed bruises on her knee and bicep.

The team’s coach suspended two unnamed football players on Friday before the Alamo Bowl.
